H​ere's how you can prep your breakfast for less than £3 a week. It can be done

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. However, I used to be one of those people who simply didn't want to take the time out in the morning to make anything.

Meal prepping can save you a lot of money. I recently saw a video on how to prep your breakfast for £10 a week, but I knew I could go lower while still achieving great tasting food that stays fresh all week. So here you are...

O​vernight Oats

-​ Grower's Harvest Oats 1kg - 75p

-​ Grower's Harvest Sultana's 500g - 99p

-​ Tesco frozen mixed fruit 500G - £2.00

-​ Milk one pint - 50p

Overall ingredient cost: £4.24. Per week: 91p

I​t wouldn't be breakfast meal prep if overnight oats weren't included. While the overall ingredient cost comes in at £4.24, the weekly cost is a mere 91p. This is because the dry ingredients such as the oats wouldn't need to be bought every week, if every fortnight.

S​imply throw 280g of oats, 70g sultanas, 140g mixed fruit and the milk into a large bowl, and serve yourself a portion each morning.

Yoghurt and berry pot

-​ Greek or natural yoghurt 500g - 90p

-​ Tesco frozen mixed berries - £2.00

Overall recipe cost: £2.90 - if using all the berries

N​ow this one is so simple, I almost feel silly explaining it to you. Mix the yoghurt and berries together. That's it. Keep in the fridge and the berries will seep into the yoghurt.

Optional: Honey or granola on top, 50p per serving

Banana muffins - makes 10

- 1 banana - 14p

-​ 2tbsp milk - 2p

-​ 3 tbsp oil - 4p

-​ 1 cup of flour - 10p

-​1/2 tsp baking soda - 5p

-​1/3 cup of sugar - 30p

Overall recipe cost: 65p

Mix together the banana and milk. Preheat oven to 320c and add the rest of the ingredients. Portion into muffin cases and cook for 15-20mins.

These muffins are so delicious and the cheapest thing on the list, as well as being simple to make. At 65p per week, you could make two batches and freeze some.
