5 ways to get rid of lock-down weight

With lockdown restrictions easing up all over the world, and everyone aching from all the excess weight they have gained over these elongated periods of staying at home. It is essential to find ways to restore rhythm into our regular diets and working lives.

Here are five ways to get back normalcy :

1. Make a schedule

The only way to get your head around a task is to plan for it in advance. You could start by planning for breakfast the next day then the meal after and slowly you would end up planning for all six meals throughout the day within a week. I like jotting down all my meals the night before and batch cooking them in the morning and then dividing them into small containers which I carry around hence; I don't eat out of schedule or binge eat on whatever I get my hands on.

2. Exercise in the AM

Exercising for at least 30 minutes in a day and eating in small portions every 2 hours is one of the best & the quickest way of restoring metabolism levels. For me, The best time to get any workout done right after waking up as your energy levels are at its peak, and the mind is fresh.

3. Keep yourself hydrated

With irregular eating habits and staying indoors during the lockdown, we tend to give less attention to having water regularly. Up to 60% of the human body is water; hence consuming approximately 1.5 to 2 litres of water is essential to restore body balance.

4. Sleep on time

Keep binge-watching series and being glued on to playing games throughout the night as far away as possible or just for the weekends. Having a scheduled eating habit, consuming enough water and exercising will all be of waste if the body and mind are not well-rested, So getting about 7-8 hours of sleep throughout the night is essential.

5. Get back to simplicity.

Last but not least, an idle mind is a devils workshop, and in this case, high-calorie social media recipes were his tools which each one of us stuck at home made sure to try at least one recipe no matter how bad of a cook they are. Experimenting every time we cook leads to more calories than required so, I would recommend to lay off the massive calories for a while to get back in shape.

    • I still hate waking up early although it’s become a routine, it took about 3 weeks to get used to bright early morning!

  • If anything I became leaner in lockdown. But yes your correct. I seem to snackπŸ₯‘πŸ…πŸ₯’πŸ‰πŸ‹πŸπŸŒπŸ“πŸ₯•πŸ₯¦ all day long about every 2 to 3 hours.

    I enjoy my jog at night that is when my energy levels seem to be at peak. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ
