A pie and mash brunch is on its way to London

It's a shame you won't find a Yorkshireman paying London prices for a pie and mash...

Londoners are spoiled for choice when it comes to brunches at the weekend. The vast selection spans from all things Brazilian, all the way to a simple avocado and poached egg on a slice of sourdough bread.

However, something new is afoot and it brings something a little more cockney. That's right, a pie and mash brunch is headed for London and we can't wait.

Pie and mash fans will be able to enjoy this new style of brunch on Sunday 12 September and then again on Sunday 14 November.

London’s Electric Ballroom is set to host these two events – which will run from 12pm-5pm on both days. All the food will be supplied by a local shop named Robins.

Each £30 ticket includes pie, mash and gravy – alongside bottomless 'Sex on Southend Beach' cocktails for 60 minutes.

If you thought that wasn't good enough, then you'll be glad to hear a Chas ’n’ Dave tribute band: DJ Cockney Kev as well as a Pearly King and Queen will be roaming the event.

Guests will also have the chance to take part in a jellied eels eating contest – with a month’s supply of it for the winner. Latterly, there will be a ‘Knees Up Mother Brown’ dance-off competition, a mini car boot sale and a photo booth available.

Does this sound like your kind of thing?

  • I won’t say it doesn’t sound very British, but jellied eels? No thanks mate.
