Want to make mole with an Indigenous chef in Mexico City? How about prepping Portugeuse fare with a group of fabulous drag queens in Lisbon? Or even roll perfect pasta with a real-life Italian nonna in Rome?

These are just some of the amazing new cooking activities on offer from Airbnb. They’ve just announced the launch of their new Cooking Experiences - there are over 3,000 experiences to be had in 75 countries around the world.

These new ‘Experiences’ are hosted by farmers, chefs, families and other locals who will share their culinary traditions and the stories behind them. According to Airbnb, you’ll “cook and eat meals with locals who treat you like family.”

Hosts include British TV presenter and culinary entrepreneur Prue Leith, world renowned Mexican chef Enrique Olvera, and Singaporean culinary icon and MasterChef judge, chef Damian D’Silva

Thrillist reported that Airbnb said its food and drink bookings have shot up 160% since last year, so that’s why the company was promoted to launch these cooking activities.

CEO and co-founder Brian Chesky said: “We have realized that sharing a meal is the key that unlocks culture and fosters connection. We want to bring back the tradition of people coming together to make and share meals, and through this help preserve unique recipes that are shared within family kitchens around the world."
