Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get weirder

Now, I don't know about you but in my mind, the association between coconut and booze begins and ends with Pina Colada. That's pretty much the only boozy use I can think of when it comes to coconut. The good news is I was wrong, and Aldi is now selling coconut-flavored wine. Yes.

Instagrammer aldi.mademedoit shared a picture of a bottle on her Instagram a few days ago and then more people began doing the same thing. The sticker on the bottle says that this is made with a "blend of white wine, with rich coconut flavor, and finest cream."

The first professional reviews are also coming in and apparently the wine is very good. According to it has "aromas of coconut cream" and comes with a "creamy, vibrant, sweet light-to-medium body and a warming, breezy buttermilk pie, coconut macaroon, vanilla yogurt, and white pepper finish."

A 750 ml bottle, with 13.9% ABV, will set you back 8 dollars so I guess there's only one way to find out.

  • There's a variation of this here in Southeast Asia which is actually made from the tapped fermented juice from the coconut flower frond. It's actually similar to how maple syrup is tapped from the trees. The fermented juice is locally referred to as toddy and the unfermented juice is used to make palm sugar. Not too sure if the liquor described in the main post is a similar product.

  • Had a girlfriend that washed her hair in a coconut shampoo.

Still makes me horny when I get a whiff of coconut.
