Praise be to the boozy mince pie!

Since September, FoodDevour has been awash with the news of supermarkets unveiling their festive feasts, and now joining the ranks is Aldi. The German retailer gave us a sneak peek in August (Lordy it gets earlier every year!), but have now pulled back the curtains to show what you can have for Christmas lunch, on a very reasonable budget!

Infusionist Icy Blueberry Gin Liqueur - £9.99

This looks ace-biscuits!

This looks ace-biscuits!

Festive liqueurs are one of the best parts about Christmas, favourites I've found so far have been a Christmas spice Baileys from an independent place down Bath way. But this looks to be worth a try! Sweet and light with a fresh twist. I'll have a glass of this over ice, neat, while I crack on with my Christmas present Lego kit with Die Hard on the telly!

Lobster Tails - from £3.53 - from 21st December

Dunno about the scallops, or how much they cost, but oooooh yes this platter looks amazeballs.

Yes. Lobster tails. Available with either a Thermidor butter or prosecco butter, these fresh or frozen tails are going to be a sure-fire way to impress any guests that you're legally allowed to have round.

Specially Selected Sloe Gin Mince Pies - £2.49

I'll avoid those almond topped ones, but otherwise, ooooooh yeah.

I'll avoid those almond topped ones, but otherwise, ooooooh yeah.

Sold in a four-pack, they are an all-butter pastry pie, filled with sloe gin-infused mincemeat! How does that not sound amazing? AND FOR ONLY £2.49! WHAT A BARGAIN!

Prosecco and Sparkling Wine Advent Calendar - £59.99 - From 1st November

Missed a trick here didn't you Miss Hogg! Ha!

Missed a trick here didn't you Miss Hogg! Ha!

Quite why Rachael forgot to include this in her spread on boozy advent calendars is shocking and inexcusable. Every day in this calendar features a 200ml bottle of fizz for you to enjoy because why not, it's the season of good cheer and all that.

Specially Selected 30-Month-Old Christmas Pudding - £9.99

Fire not included.

Fire not included.

This is a 30-month matured dessert, made by the oldest pudding maker in the world. Packed with luxurious ingredients, including Turkish sultanas and brandy-soaked cherries, it's the ultimate festive showstopper. 30 months! 30 months ago, two and a half years ago! April, 2018! We were in a different world! £9.99 for some time travelling sultanas from Turkey? Sign me up!

So what delights from Aldi's Christmas range peak your interest? Let me know in the comments.

  • The Christmas pudding sounds delicious, the gin mini pies too. I don't think those items are available on the us 😔.

  • It's beginning to feel a lot like, and all that.

  • Wanna see your cat somersault for joy? Just unwrap a lobster in the kitchen. She'll go mental with happiness. I've done it, and I'll never forget the reaction. I just wish I'd thought of setting up a camera
