Watching pros cook online right now is comforting, but sometimes it can be a bit daunting – like, you know your sourdough is never going to be as good as the loaves all over Insta. That’s why we were happy to see the super relatable news that food fan Amy Schumer is going to be starring in a new show.

It’s called Amy Schumer Learns To Cook, and it features the comedian and her husband, Chris Fischer, who is a professional chef.

“Chris and I are excited to make this project with Food Network combining our two passions — for Chris it’s cooking and for me, eating,” Schumer wrote in a statement to TODAY. (We hear you Amy).

She added: "With everything going on in the world right now, we are so grateful to be able to share an entertaining and informative experience with viewers."

Each 30-minute episode will focus on a different culinary theme, for instance pasta night, tacos, brunch and (less enticingly, fridge cleanup). All eight of the episodes were filmed by the couple themselves.

Fischer is a James Beard award-winning cookbook author. Unsurprisingly, he’s going to take the lead on food prep. Schumer will be in charge of cocktails. (It's unclear what responsibilities the couple's adorable son Gene will have...)

“Amy and Chris will give an unprecedented look at this lives as they are quarantined in their house,” Food Network President Courtney White said in the statement. “Shot entirely themselves, Amy’s boundless humor and Chris’ culinary skills show viewers how they navigate life while at home making the best of these turbulent times with some good laughs and good food.”

The pair have said they are also donating to the Coalition of Immokalee Workers’ Fair Food Program and select organizations that help victims of domestic violence during the coronavirus pandemic.

The show is due to come out later this spring.
